Mellissa’s first job in recruitment was with a small boutique firm which specialised in placing administrators, secretaries and executive assistants across public and private sector clients. Having learnt and mastered the basics of temporary recruitment, she then moved to a specialist financial recruitment consultancy. There Mellissa was responsible for placing part-qualified and qualified accountants on an interim basis, to multi-sector clients in Yorkshire.
In 2010 she joined the New Street Group, working for both the BrightPool and Interim Partners brands. During her successful tenure in the business she was responsible for placing specialist Financial Services interims into insurance and banking clients.
Mel sat on the same pod of desks as Steve and Kathryn whilst at Interim Partners. When Steve left in April 2015 to set up Melber Flinn she was sad, but when Kathryn left to join Steve in February 2016, she was inconsolable (or so Steve and Kathryn like to think). So when the opportunity arose to join Melber Flinn she jumped at the chance. Mellissa now puts her extensive experience of interim management into good use by supporting Steve in providing the best candidate experience to all our interims. This will include sourcing new candidates, helping manage the candidate network and running searches against live requirements.
She has a 1 year old son, so is fortunate enough to work part-time at Melber Flinn which allows her to spend quality time with him.
Mellissa is originally from the brewing town of Burton-on-Trent. She moved to Leeds in 2001 to study Primary Education at Leeds Metropolitan University. On graduating she fell in love with Yorkshire but out of love with the teaching profession, so embarked on a search for a new career. Little did she know the dizzy heights of recruitment were just around the corner.
