Kathryn has worked in the recruitment industry for over 15 years.
Prior to that she knew she wanted a fulfilling and rewarding career with the occasional touch of glamour to break up the 9 to 5, so selling fax rolls and toner cartridges for a now defunct printing firm in Castleford seemed like the obvious choice. She also enjoyed a successful spell selling Microsoft software support, despite being a firm believer in the theory that the best sales people are passionate about their product and know it inside out.
Whilst looking for a change of career a recruitment agency suggested that she would be an ideal candidate to join their team as a permanent recruitment consultant. After two weeks intensive training in Luton and a brief spell manning an administrative temp desk it became apparent that her organisational and administrative skills were far stronger than her abilities as a high street recruiter! She decided to take on an administrative role in the industry instead. Initially she worked as a team administrator for a boutique agency specialising in insurance and financial services permanent appointments, moving from there to Michael Page where she managed a small team of secretaries. She joined Badenoch & Clark in 2006 which is where she met Steve and when he left, Kathryn felt it just wasn’t the same, so she followed him (albeit 6 years later) to a company closer to home in Harrogate where she was an Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive and several directors. In 2015 she won the company’s’ “Top Support” award.
She joined Steve at Melber Flinn in March 2016 as his EA and she says she has finally found the job that provides everything* she dreamed of in 1997. Kathryn lives in Harrogate with her partner Karl, a keen triathlete and cycling fanatic. They are shortly to be joined by a miniature schnauzer (Bradley Waggins). Outside of work she enjoys good food, good wine and bad television.
